PAPIO CREEK CHURCH SMALL GROUP MINISTRY

Small group ministries at PapioCreekChurch are integral to its DNA. We are determined to be a church of small groups instead of a church with small groups because we believe in the power of people gathering together to share life, grow in God’s Word and serve together.  A church service is not enough to make a strong spiritual connection with people so that is why we have such a high value on our small group ministry.

FAQs about Small Groups

What is a small group?

A small group is a community of 6-12 people who meet on a regular basis.  Groups come in all shapes and sizes and there are no two alike.  A small group is not a collection of perfect people who have life all figured out but feel comfortable to ask questions, to learn and to be encouraged with one another.

What happens in a small group?

Small groups are a major part of fulfilling Papio Creek’s mission of “Transforming Hearts For Christ” This happens through:

Prayer:   Discovering the revolutionizing power of prayer when we pray in God’s presence and with others.

Bible Study:   Studying God’s Word together can bring about incredible life transformation when we discover how biblical truths apply to real-life situations

Fellowship :  Spending time socializing, having fun, and sharing that time together helps us feel that we are not alone in this life and many times breaks up our mundane weekly schedule.

Service: Serving as a group helps awaken the realization of how blessed we are and of our opportunity to make an impact in our community, neighborhood and our world.

Outreach:   We have an open chair philosophy that always strives to be open to who God wants to join the group.

What time commitment is required to be in a small group?

Most groups meet weekly for an hour and a half to two hours and go throughout the year.  Some groups take off the summer as well. Most groups meet in the evenings and we presently have some Life Transformation Accountability Groups that meet in the mornings.
